1 whole Chicken ( cut to bite size pcs)
1/2 cup yogurt
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 +1/2 tsp cumin pd
1 1/2 tsp coriander pd
1/2 +1/2 tsp garam masala pd
1 large onion – chopped fine
2 tomatoes – pureed
2-3 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp red chilli pd
4-5 whole baby potatoes – washed and peeled
1 tsp sugar
salt as required
Oil ( preferably Mustard oil)
green chillies to garnish


Marinate chicken with yogurt, 1/2 tsp cumin pd, 1/2 tsp garam masala pd, coriander pd and ginger garlic paste, for about a couple of hours.

Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add onions, fry till golden brown
Add red chilli pd, remaining cumin and garam masala pd and stir for a few seconds
Pour in tomato puree
Let it boil and then add chicken with marinade
Add sugar, salt, tomato paste, baby potatoes and a little water
Stir well and pressure cook for 3 whistles
Garnish with green chillies and serve hot with rice or roti
