INGREDIENTS:

500 gms okra
1 med.onion – sliced
2 tbs tomato paste
2 tsp gin/gar paste
2 green chillies – slit
1/2 tsp red chilli pd
1 tsp coriander pd
1/4 tsp turmeric pd
1/2 tsp garam masala pd
2 tsp corn flour
3/4 cup yoghurt – beaten
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
a pinch asafoetida ( hing)
salt to taste
oil as req
2 tbsp nuts of your choice

METHOD:

Wash n pat dry Okra. Remove the ends n slit lengthwise into halves
Sprinkle little salt and red chilli pd , toss and keep aside for 10 mins
Heat oil in a non stick pan and fry okra till it starts to brown
Remove from pan and keep aside
In the same pan, heat a little oil and add cumin seeds and then hing
Add onion and green chilli and saute for a minute.
Add gin/gar paste and tomato paste n stir for a few secs
Sprinkle cornflour over this and mix well
Now add coriander pd and turmeric pd, mix well
Pour in yoghurt and 1/4 cup water and give it a good mix
Now add okra and salt
Top with garam masala n stir till done
Remove Okra into a serving bowl
Heat very little oil in a small pan
Fry nuts till brown
Top Okra with these nuts
Serve hot ,as a side dish, with roti or rice
