1/2 kg prawns – cleaned, pat dry n keep aside
1 large onion – chopped
2 green chilles – slit
3 tsp ginger/garlic paste
1/2 tsp kashmiri chilli pd
1 tsp coriander pd
1/2 tsp turmeric pd
1 tsp black pepper pd
juice of 1 lemon
salt to taste
oil – as req

1/2 tsp turmeric pd
1/2 tsp black pepper pd
salt to taste
2 tbsp vinegar


In a bowl, mix the marinade ingredients. Add a little water , if required, to make a paste.
Add prawns to this marinade, gently mix well.
Refrigerate marinated prawns for about an hour

Heat oil in a non stick pan and add prawns to it
Fry on medium heat till golden colour
Remove and keep aside.
To the same oil, add onions and green chillies n fry till it starts to turn brown
Add ginger/garlic paste n fry till aromatic
Add all dry masala powders n fry on low till you get a rich colour
Add Prawns and now squeeze lemon over them.
Mix gently for another 2-3 mins.
Serve hot

You can add some chopped cilantro before serving
Adjust lemon juice to your taste
